The Introduction

Tonight, ladies and gentlemen, marks what I hope to be a site dedicated to my food, crafting, miscellaneous adventures and ranting.  I, very much, also enjoy painting landscapes, patterns, using stencils, interior decorating, gardening, yadda yadda.  I have lots and lots of thoughts, my friends; I will not hesitate to use them!  You’ve been warned.

I am currently working on two radically different styles of wreaths, a few paintings, sculpting Jack Skellington from polymer clay and I think that is pretty much it for now.  I have a tendency to take on way too many projects at once which you will soon learn.  In the next few days I will also post some delicious recipes that I have recently tried and have either succeeded or failed at in all its honest brutality.  I will speak of its taste, texture, consistency and ease of method.

For now though, here is a little about myself – I am a 35 year old married female resisting the inevitable and dreaded 40’s.  Yes, I realize it’s 5 years away.  To some, it’s 5 long years but to me it feels like a blink of an eye.  Let’s put this in some perspective here for you.  I will be turning 36 on January 25, 2015.  Today is October 28.  You do the math.  I refuse.  It’s around the corner, in the post, however you want to soften the blow. .  I took some art and writing courses, loved up on English literature and the like. Alongside art and everything that comes with it, I have a side passion for writing. But – most of all, there is cooking… Lots and lots of cooking.  I love to bake.  Pure and simple.  I love the process of it; the mixing and combining.  Usage of appliances – complicated or not – I love it so, so much.  I purchased a KitchenAid oven and KitchenAid appliances that I love more than my Tiffany jewelry.  I really should’ve gone to culinary school instead.  Maybe I will… who knows 🙂

For the past 7 years, I have been married to whom could very possibly be the most amazing man on the planet.  Seriously, this guy deserves the following paragraph.  I have never in my life met someone like him – male or female.  Some quick background on him:  Patient, kind, understanding and loving.  He is one of the rare men that will carry out the act of listening, understanding what is said then talking with you about it.  We are each other’s best friend and have an insanely strong bond that no one can break.  Our affection for each other is explosive. We share loads in common (video games, guns, foreign films, cooking and trying out different recipes – both carnivorous and vegetarian just to name a few) and lots of differences; enough to keep it interesting.  No one has ever loved me the way he has and I have never loved anyone like I have loved him.  No one will ever come close to it either.  I am sure I will write more about him and all his badassery in upcoming posts.

I am drawing this entry to a close. Tomorrow I will post another couple of blogs with different wreaths I’m putting together and a chocolate frosting recipe I came across last night that is absolutely decadent.  Thank you for reading!  Cheers!
